Heather was born in Scotland and immigrated to South Africa in 1958. Growing up in Cape Town her artistic flair was apparent from a young age. Married with three children, she focussed on the family and home but opened her own studio to pursue her art career.
She attended the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Woodstock and has also attended workshops with Ryno Swart, Sheri Hornsey and Greg Kerr. Living in Simon’s Town since 1996 she opened her own gallery where she exhibits a large body of her paintings, etchings and sculptures.
Her work hangs in many private collections worldwide. Figurative work is her passion, endeavoring to capture on canvas or in bronze, the spirit of her subject - mainly women from Africa. Heather has been working as a professional artist and sculptor since 1989 participating in many group and solo exhibitions.
