When an artist loves
nature as Nola Muller does, there will be a sincere connection with the
land. She has portrayed the wide open spaces of the Kalahari in her large
watercolours; and illustrated the ways of the first people in her '' trancedance''
acrylics. Recently she has traveled in the Namaqualand region, taking
in the atmosphere of the relaxed back yards where the washing flaps in
the wind and dogs wait patiently. Scant furniture is scattered in the
yard. Time passes slowly, change is gradual and the old ways persist.
