After graduating in Fine Art from Natal Technikon, Stavros spent two years traveling internationally visiting and teaching in art institutions in Europe. Whilst enriching his knowledge of sculpture. On the island of Tinos, he was fortunate enough to spend time honing his skill in the art of marble carving.

With his passion for art and the enthusiasm to share his knowledge, Stavros became the technical advisor at Natal Technikon and was instrumental in establishing Durban Art Studio, an NGO for up-and-coming artists.

Owning his studios, Stavros has been involved in a large variety of projects which include decorative elements in architecture for national shopping malls, hotel developments, and casinos as well as numerous projects for the film industry. 
All the while Stavros has been creating sculptures for international private collections across the globe in America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Stavros’ forte is monumental style sculptures and has sculpted a large number of public and private works in Angola, China, Europe, America, Russia, Germany and South Africa. He creates and designs both realistic and abstract works and created a range of gold miniatures representing African artefacts. Stavros was selected to represent South Africa in Sculpture symposiums in China (Changchun) Russia (Penza) Germany (Mehmels)

For the past few years, Stavros has also been working with MTE Studios, Dubai. With his years of international experience, he’s been involved in the conceptualization and art directing of numerous large projects from the Ibn Battuta Mall to designing and creating exhibits for Dubailand, Topkapi Palace, Sultans of Science travelling exhibit and many other events.

Currently working in a studio in Cape Town and with his culmination of skills fine-tuned over the years working in any material including stone, wood, bronze, and plastic, Stavros continually creates for both private and public collections."
